Easily the best food we ate in Gargnano, and there were a few great restaurants. The staff were also very friendly. We ate here twice during our weekend visit, but I’m sure had we been here longer we would have visited again to try everything on the menu! 10/10
If you like to eat just a Pizza, it is a pitty but you need to choose something different of the delicious offers to have the chance to enjoy this famous place! Started with a very warm and cordial welcome, we had the chance to take a seat outside close to the warm firepit. The food to choose is from the area around and it is really perfect. We had as a starter the mixed plate with a variantion of differnt fishs, but not just as simple fish and it is absolutely worth to taste it! The main dishes we take were fantastic as well and to finish the meal we tasted the variation of delicious cheeses. I knew that the Grappa we can buy in Germany is not comparable with what you will get in Italy, but thanks to the presentation of 3 (out of 12, if I properly remember) Grappa, I had the chance to finish the evening perfectly. Thanks a lot to the crew/owner, you are doing a fantastic job!
I believe this might be the best restaurant on lake Garda. I had the Pork cheek and I don’t think I’ve had better. It was perfectly balanced in every way. The staff were amazing and so passionate about the food they served. I got a table as a walk in but I would recommend booking beforehand.
It may sound cliché, but my wife and I will never forget our utterly perfect experience dining at Casa Calderi—a quaint but thoroughly elegant ristorante tucked in the center of the block just opposite the small marina at the heart of Gargnano’s “centro” or downtown area. Although the expertly curated menu offers a diverse selection of tempting regional dishes, the glistening waters of Lake Garda visible from every table—especially the tables situated right on the marina across the street from the restaurant’s entrance—inspired us to opt for three seafood specialties. We began with the “antipasto di lago”—an assortment of exquisitely concocted small bites, each featuring a different lake fish prepared in a variety of scrumptious marinades. We then moved to the homemade “tagliatelle con tartufo” only to follow with an incredible main: the “cartoccio di mare”—fresh tuna and swordfish, sweet baby clams, and ripe cherry tomatoes prepared en papillote with oregano, Gardanese capers and locally sourced olive oil. Assolutamente da morire! In fact, when we opened our packets, the guests sitting at an adjacent table asked us what smelled so delicious. Veteran and first-time sojourners in Italy alike are well aware that there is no shortage of delicious cuisine and terrific osterie, trattorie, and ristoranti. So why Casa Calderi when there are so many good options to chose from? Simply put, at the “Calderi House” you will feel truly at home. The warmth, geniality, kindness, and good humor of the proprietors—who welcome you and attend to your every need—is what makes dining here sheer joy for the soul as well as the palate. If you are visiting the western riva of Lake Garda—or are within reasonable driving distance from Gargnano—don’t miss Casa Calderi! Just keep in mind that they’re closed on Thursdays.
We had a lovely dinner with the most friendly and attentive service. Food was very weak cooked and presentation much more than what to expect in this little cute village. Selection of wine was great and we had a beautiful evening.
Our dining experience was truly exceptional. The waterside setting created a magical atmosphere. We savored every dish, starting with the delicate tartare, followed by the incredible ravioli stuffed with a delightful honey goat cheese. For our main courses, we enjoyed both the perfectly cooked duck and the artful combination of fresh tuna and swordfish, each dish showcasing incredible flavor and skill. The service was impeccable – attentive and friendly, enhancing our enjoyment. The team of 3 offers a memorable culinary journey with unique and delicious dishes in a beautiful location. Highly recommended for a special evening in Italy. Thanks from Australia
A wonderful place to stay! We've had a blast! The food's just delicious. Veramente italian! Fabrizio and Celeste are great and kind hosts and the home made pasta is really special! You can find many (of not all) dishes with local ingredients like cheese from the cheese store few steps away or lemons from the local lemon farm. I you're nearby and love deliciousness, that's a MUST on your trip plan.
I am truly grateful for the evening with the team of Calderì’s. We were looking to spontaneously dine in and good overwhelmingly lucky with this place! The service was very attentive and friendly. We got a special pasta treat with truffle, lake fish pasta, fish antipasto and the fried hake. While due to the complex tastes combination with tarragon the hake dish may not be for everyone, I particularly would like to compliment the pastas and the fish antipasto (best!) which were truly excellent. They also have a great selection of lemon liqueur from local farm, and the green bitter lemon was a great discovery! Thanks and hope to be back
